Director, Inside Sales

The ideal candidate will be a proven, versatile sales executive and leader who has managed software sales organizations via inside sales.  This candidate has had successful experience within a private organization that has gone public, or growing a small organization to large scale.  The Director of Inside Sales will work from our Chicago, IL office headquarters. Reporting to the CEO this individual must be an intensely motivated, experienced sales management professional with excellent coaching and leadership skills, and a proven sales executive in his or her own right. Minimal travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage 5 – 10 new business inside sales reps in achieving team quota of ~ $4M.
  • Attract, hire, coach, on-board and retain top sales talent
  • Quote, negotiate, and assist sales reps in closing business
  • Manage daily and weekly activities, pipelines, forecasts and close deals to ensure above-quota results based on successful pipeline management
  • Coordinate and manage weekly and monthly one-on-one and team-wide pipeline reviews, meetings and training sessions to ensure ongoing improvement and best practice sharing
  • Work well cross-functionally within the organization.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Must be a hunter
  • Must be a doer as well as a leader
  • 5 years’ experience managing individual contributor inside sales people to successful achievement of team quota
  • 5 years’ experience as an individual contributor successfully managing to quota.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly expanding, fast paced environment
  • Teamwork and good communication skills a must
  • Four year university/college degree required

Curriculum Coordinator & School Partnership Liaison

Responsibilities

In the position of Curriculum Coordinator & School Partnership Liaison, you will be responsible for

  • Facilitating successful partnerships with schools that accelerate student learning and help teachers grow professionally
  • Creating and revising our app curriculum through vetting educational apps and developing learning activities
  • Teaching students in our after school programs
  • Supporting sales and marketing efforts

Requirements

  • Excellence in teaching – Demonstrated excellence as a teacher in K-6 Math or Reading – through teaching awards or quantifiable rapid academic growth of students
  • Experience with instructional technology – 1+ years using iPads or iPod Touch devices (or other hybrid learning technology) with students to differentiate instruction
  • Leadership – Some experience leading professional development sessions or seminars/presentations for other teachers

Inside Sales Representative, Educational Partnerships

The Inside Sales Rep (ISR), Educational Partnerships is responsible for achieving quarterly and annual revenue targets in their assigned territory.  The successful ISR has existing relationships with elementary school building principals, school building decision-makers, and district leaders and will constantly work to create new supportive partnerships. The ISR will focus on selling eSpark’s innovative K-8 iPad software platform and teacher professional development offering to assigned school districts and schools and works collaboratively with other eSpark team members to achieve sales goals. He/she will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the elementary reading and math intervention market, elementary literacy and math products, and selling skills.  This is an inside sales role.

Responsibilities

          • Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets by developing new business.
          • Deliver professional sales presentations to individual school leaders and district leaders with the ability to persuade and close business – both in person and via phone/web video.
          • Build and nurture relationships with schools, principals, superintendents etc.
          • Provide timely and accurate reporting of pipeline, account plans and territory management activities as required.
          • Develop and maintain a full business pipeline of prospective clients and assume all territory management in an assigned geographic region.

Requirements

          • BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred.
          • Minimum of 2 years of successful direct sales experience to school and district leaders in elementary literacy and elementary math intervention solutions.
          • Demonstrated sales skills including
            • Active listening skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
            • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
            • Strong motivation and grit.
